Can I take Vicodin while on antibiotic Clindamycin Hcl 300? I'm taking an antibiotic for a possible tooth infection. However I am also in pain. Can I take a Vicodin?

Oneria2006 replied: "absolutely, it will take 3 days for the antibiotic to kick in"

anndee replied: "absolutely !!!! it's not gonna hurt you if you take them together. I'm surprised your dentist didn't tell you that. but don't worry. i myself just got done with antibiotics and darvocet. and they are basically the same thing. so take them don't sit there in pain !!! you will be just fine. unless you're allergic to vicodin. feel better."

Alfie333 replied: "Vicodin is a powerful drug, and one which you should only take if absolutely necessary. Ask you Pharmacist or your Dentist for advice."

medusa replied: "Did your dentist prescribe both of those medications? If so I should think s/he would have explained how to take them. For instance, my sister just had an extraction and was prescribed Clindamycin and Vicodin simultaneously. She has been taking both with no ill effects. If your dentist did not prescribe the Vicodin and it is your aunt's, or something a friend gave you, I would then advise against taking it. It's not a good idea to use drugs that were not prescribed specifically for you. **From personal experience, I will warn you to eat tons of yogurt and brewer's yeast while on the Clindamycin. I was on it 2 years ago and had a case of colitis that lasted for nearly 3 months. It was HORRIBLE >>shudder<<. Please read the pamphlet the chemist gave you and be aware of the symptoms for colitis, so at the first sign you can report it to you dentist and get on a different antibiotic. Good luck. **"

Joycee replied: "I believe you can but you can go on walgreens or rite aid website and they have a section on their for drug interaction. Double check to play it safe."

which of these antibiotics is safe when you are pregnant? Clindamycin HCL 300 mg or Sulfameth /TMP DS I'm not pregnant, I just want to know for the future so I can ask my doctor for it.

panda replied: "Hmmm... that is a very random question. Do you use these antibiotics often?? You should only take medical advice from your GP, rather than randoms on Y/A"

Jill replied: "Your doctor would prescribe the antibiotic appropriate to treat whatever infection you might have. Not all antibiotics work to kill all baterial types. You don't need to ask your doctor for anything, they make the decision based on what is safest and what is appropriate for your illness, and of course would never prescribe anything to you that wouldn't be safe to take during pregnancy."

Doodlestuff replied: "Clindamycin is a class B antibiotic in Pregnancy. Sulfameth - Also sold as Bactrim. Class C antibacterial. I wouldn't even think about taking this one. There are a lot of people who have had a sudden and severe reactions to this med and they are not typical allergic reactions. If you commonly have UTIs, consider avoiding sex during pregnancy. Women who regularly have sex have much higher rates of UTIs, although I have no idea why some women get them and many do not. I understand that perhaps you have tried other meds and these were the 2 that worked for you, so certainly mention that if that is an issue. The doc may give you something else however."

Heather replied: "These medications are for bladder infection right? I believe that my doctor prescribed me clindamycin before but I wouldn't take anything unless it was given to you by your doctor. Your doctor knows what is ok for you and your baby when you are pregnant and therefore you should ONLY take/give medication to a pregnant woman if it comes from the doctor."

CBear6 replied: "The best person to ask would be your doctor. If you contracted something requiring anti-biotics while pregant then the doctor would take that into account when prescribing. I know amoxycillin (penicillin) is safe as my doctor prescribed this when I had a throat infection earlier in my pregnant - he said amoxycillin was safe but may result in oral thrush."

Please help me!!! Medications for acne!!! 10pts.? Okay, I first went to a dermatologist and he gave me doxycycline 100mg 2 times daily. It worked wonders. After the 6-7 week it stopped working. I went back to derm. and he said we may have to resort to Isotretinoin "accutane." He Prescribed me to Sulfamethoxazole 800-160 tab to clear it up before I go on accutane. He made an appointment for me with another dermatologist, cause he wasn't going to be there. I went back, and found out that I can not afford any generic isotretinoin medications. This doctor I didn't like at all. She was about to just put me on creams!!!!!!! Which would totally not work. I went back home. My brother has a friend that was prescribed to clindamycin HCL 300 mg. She is allergic to that, so she gave it to me. It is working, but I am getting like 1 small white head a day. Do you think I built resistance to all antibiotics, or what? My brother also didn't need his Penicillin VK 500 mg, I got that. The reason I am getting these antibiotics is because I build up a resistance soo quickly, that I need to keep changing them. DO you think that there is any medication simular to accutane, and wayy less expensive? And when I go back to dermatology, would a doctor, if I ask, let me keep switching antibiotics every month and a half if I get blood tests? Please I need some help and support. Any information that would be useful, please share. I am a male, so don't worry about the female side affects of these drugs.

huy replied: "There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about. It was even televised on TV. It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It has been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks) Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site. This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at: Search up "best acne solution ever" on ebay. First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can buy the whole container for $160 It's expensive, but the product DOES work My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream. I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight. I hope this helps. =)"
